Turned Elite at age 10
Onnie started gymnastics at Puget Sound when she was just 3.  It was obvious right from the beginning that she was a talented gymnast.  She was eager and spunky and wowed everyone.  She went Elite at the tender young age of 10 and made the National Team several times.

In 1993 she competed at the Japan Jr. World Invitational and placed 8 AA.  In 1994, Onnie won bars at the American Classic and places 10th AA.  She placed 18th AA at the 1995 USA Championships.  By 1996, Onnie had been an Elite for 4 years, she placed 8th at the American Classic and made the Jr. International Team.

Then, instead of continuing on the driven Elite path to the 2000 Olympics, Onnie and her family made the decision to gear down to level 10 and let Onnie be a regular kid again.  Up until the 8th grade Onnie was home schooled by her parents.  But the other life changing decision they made was to let Onnie go to public high school.  High school added to Onnies athletic life and she went out for track and excelled there too.  In her Senior year she was the Washington State Triple Jump Champion.  Onnie also excelled in the class room and had a 4.0 GPA in High School.  In 1998 Onnie was Level 10 State, Regional and National Champion, as well as National Vault and Beam Champion.   After such a successful season, Onnie had her pick of Colleges.  She chose UCLA and they were happy to give her a 4 year  scholarship.

Her college career has been even more successful and her accomplishments there include:
